our 1st day in kyoto

we arrived at kansai airport at 8.30am today. i had slept thru the flight. the che2 wearing their red uniforms were so helpful and entertained me too, brot me the kids package too. here is us at kansai international airport after we cleared immigration.

after that we quickly went to the JR office to exchange our pass for our 4days JR West -Kansai Pass. we are to catch the 10.16am train "airport express - haruka" to kyoto. the journey was almost 2hrs, we reached kyoto main station at 11.31am. the journey is 100km away. we stopped at these stations Tennoji, Shin-Osaka, Osaka before finally arriving at Kyoto station.

we have to take the subway train to Karasuma-Oike Station and change to Kawaramachi-

Oike station . then to all our horror, the exit to our hotel only stairs available. with our 2 luggages, 1 stroller and 1 haversack and of course, me a 11+kg!

mummi actually helped daddi carry the small piece and stroller up mid-way and later me as well, it was a looooooooong way up! u shld see daddi's face! wahahaha..... we should have take a pic of the stairs that we managed to get all the luggages up to the road.

once we reached the road level, we easily found our hotel, it was just around the corner. i went back to the stroller and mummi took turn with daddi to wheel the 2 luggages to the hotel. when we reach the hotel, the bellboy saw us from far and quickly rushed over to helped mummi wit the luggages.

this is me on the bed in our room, the hotel here only has 10levels, we are on the 8th. no much view as the window faces the courtyard. we finally check-in just after 3pm.

me on the bed just before i head to the bathroom for a shower. it a good size room too(20.5sqm, ours is a king size bed).

After all of us showered, we went out to walk about. we found that our hotel is very near to the shopping area. what impressed us most is the streets are non-smoking. the weather was good and nice to walk. we enjoyed the walk that evening. we walked all the way until takashimaya.
