day 8 - shinjuju gyeon park

ok, this way mummi! daddi can you hurry up, we are waiting for you
quick...quick..... follow me

at the bridge, where i saw more fishes and tortoises
i can see the birds bathing in the pond, too small to see in the pix though

we actually walked from out hotel to Takashimaya to ask for direction but we were one street away (mummi read the map wrongly) and when we ask this japanese guy, he actually walked up to the Sendagaya Gate. the entry is 200yen each. we were apologetic about it but he said it was fine as its nearby his place, he actually done his shopping at GAP already.

Covering 58 hectares, Shinjuky Gyeon is one of Tokyo's largest parks. It was opened to the public in 1949 after it has served as a garden for the Imperial Family since 1903.

Shinjuku Gyeon features three garden types: an English landscape garden with wide lawns, a traditional Japanese garden with teahouse and a formal French garden. The gardens have more than 20,000 trees including cherry trees which blossom from late March to April (the shidare or weeping cherry) to early April (somei orTOkyo Cherry) and late April (the Kanzan Cherry).

too bad, we are int he beginning of autum but still its a beautiful place to be at on a snday afternoon. enjoyed running around at the Gyeon. after that we left the park thru the Shinjuku Gate.

daddi so much wanted to see the autum colors

check out the 2 flowers at the english garden

and of course, what is an english garden without roses

daddi and i looking up! silly us

the trees all lined up

mummi and i resting at the park, we can see the pond from where we are sitting
